Lawns Bowls Newsletter Sunshine Coast

How Do You Play Barefoot Bowls?

  • Lawn bowls is played on carpet greens, divided into rinks (like lanes), with up to 8 players on each one.
  • The bowls aren’t perfectly round—they’re weighted to curve as they roll. You’ll see a small circle or symbol on one side; that side should face inwards when you bowl.
  • The aim is to roll your bowl as close as possible to the little ball, called the Jack.
  • Whoever gets closest to the Jack wins the end and scores a point for every bowl they have closer than the other team’s.

Simple, social, and lots of fun!
